Get two illuminated switches from banggood HERE for under $5 with free shipping. The red LED at the end of the switch will light up with anywhere from 5v to 12v. The current limiting resistor is included in the switch. I liked qbasan's switch box so much I remixed it! Would you like to modify it to create a different version? I took away some material from the base to heighten the illusion that the pipes are going into the wall, and I took away eight of the many (!) screw mounts. I also added room inside the box by tapering the bases of the screw mounts.
