###Motivation I have long been on the search for an affordable tree stand that works. I've tried many different kinds and "Santa's Last Stand" was the best one yet... with one exception. It was still flawed by the use of bolts which pierce the trunk either from being tightened too much or just as the tree leans it eventually breaks through.

I tried using quarters but they slipped out, then I tried bottle caps (metal ones) but they were too flimsy and didn't offer enough surface area for support.

###Details Finally, I figured I would put my 3D printer to use for something productive. In the picture of the pieces on the tree stand you may notice three different models including one that is cracked on the threading. This is because I went through two iterations before coming up with the final product. You'll see from right to left in counter-clockwise fashion, the iterations.

Also, I'll note that the threading may have been overkill because once it gets near the tree the support stops spinning and the bolt starts to thread more when it shouldn't. For this reason I have included a model with no threads so that the bolt can spin freely but still gets the support it needs. Also, if you prefer the threads, simply thread the bolt on only enough to hold it, then when the support hits the tree and stops spinning you'll have much more room for the bolt to keep threading into the support.

One more thing, when printing you may want to print with it facing down, if you print on its edge, due to the pressure it may crack more easily since the bolt will be in parallel with the layers. Printing face down would put the bolt perpendicular to the layers, you may want to use support and/or a raft since there would be very little actually touching the print surface.
