This is a light painting tool created to give a cloud like light effect. While it did not quite create the effect it was intended it did create quite an amazing effect. Using this in long exposures to light paint creates nicely textured light trails like in the example photo.

There are two designs, one uses only one push button and is meant to be used with regular one colored LEDs the other uses three tactile push buttons to be used with RGB LEDs to control each channel of the LEDs individually.

You will need:

• 12 x 5mm LEDs
• 9V battery
• either one button or three tactile push buttons (check photo for type of button)
• some wires

The battery is places inside the grip and the LEDs are wired with proper resistors to be switched on/off by the button. The wiring photos show the model that uses three buttons to control RGB LEDs. You can increase the brightness by gluing tin foil or anything reflective in the case between the LEDs and the diffuser. This is meant to clip together and glued to keep the diffuser in place. I did not create some mechanism to close the battery chamber because the battery has a tight fit and a bit of black tape can hold the battery lid in place. If anyone wants to design a proper battery chamber you are welcome to do so!
