Descrição
My mini milling project. Basic parts used for it: UnoR3 + CNC shield(V3)+ 3x drivers; 3 x Nema17; 12 x LM8UU bearings; 3 x 8mm trapezoidal rods with 2mm lead; 1 x DC motor controller like this one - http://www.ebay.com/itm/Max-8A-12V-24V-DC-6-30V-Motor-PWM-Speed-Controller-With-Digital-Display-Switch-/131585225915?hash=item1ea31734bb:g:oaMAAOxyaTxTWMQg ; 1 x spindle clamp like this - https://www.aliexpress.com/item/spindle-machine-tool-clamping-rod-ER11-shaft-5-motor-lengthened-clamping-knife-engraving-machine-drill-set/32662986876.html?spm=2114.01010208.3.20.pIn1J8&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_3_10065_10068_10069_10084_10083_10086_10017_10080_10082_10081_10060_10061_10062_10056_10055_10054_10059_10078_10079_10073_10070_10052_10053_422_10050_10051,searchweb201603_7&btsid=60efac34-5e90-46fc-85bf-fe4b487d443c ; 1 x Johnson motor 81026, 12 VDC, 19000 rpm (size: 48 mm diameter, lenght 69 mm, shaft 5 mm and 10 mm long, 3.73A); 1 x PC PSU ~350-400W good one or 500W cheap; Other stuff on the pictures. Added .dwg(AutoCad 2013+) file for some MDF and 1 mm steel laser cutting. You can make Tool plate and clamps for Your motor(Dremel, laser, etc.)
Springs and cable ties are because the motor is almost 0,5 kg. Work area 100x100 mm. Flashed with GRBL. I am using Grbl Controller. Still learning Inkscape to create files for it.
Thing is final, will not make any changes.
20.11.2016 Made and added clamps for 44mm diameter motor and distance between central holes - 30 mm. And while making the brackets I saw, that my motor is 48 mm, instead of 51 mm diameter. So this is corrected in the description.
13.04.2017 Finally I have got some time to test it and found 2 things to correct:
- 018_Vice_Clamp.stl - lower the allowances for the nut in it by 0.2 mm on each side. I have printed it with 0.3 mm nozzle and it was very loose in its bed. If You printed with 0.4 mm and it is fine in Your print - there is no need to print it again;
- 016_Vice_Base_A.stl - Did not saw at first, that the counter self securing nut will not rotate - the place for it is too tight. Made it wider +1mm on left and right directions, so now it should be fine. You have to print it again, if already did it or cut a mm on left and right of the nut 'bed'. Also added 2 cuts to indicate 0, 0 (XY), when holding blocks with clamp at the back of the vice.
For milling I am using Freemill - easy to use, but slow making. Then Candle - it is ex GRBL Controll(not grbl controller - these are 2 different softwares). For cut type jobs - Inkscape and then Candle.

I did some upgarde to the Z tower last year, because the original one was too "weak" for my motor and there was too big overhanging of the spindle.
New tower is made from 8 mm MDF(file for the LC uploaded in AC2013+ format), so You will need some 2.9x13 mm and 2.9x16 mm screws to assemble it. 2 new .stl files for the upgrade are uploaded also \031xxxxx.stl and 032xxxxx.stl
I am not very satisfied with the vice-type table, but it is doing it`s job for now.
