Descrição
Your blinking flashing bot can now get an upgrade, it can talk too!
This thing instructs you how to add a buzzer to your bot so that it can tell you when your build has completed, paused @ ZPos, or your safety cutoff has triggered.
Very useful if you've quarantined your bot to another room, where it's difficult to hear it printing. Attach a 100dB voice to it and be launched out of your chair when your bot needs you!
Also includes GCode support (see attached document), so you can add buzzes to your start/end.gcode.
As this isn't something you print, please click on "I Made One" and submit a picture of your buzzer.
Requirements:
-
Motherboard v2.4 http://wiki.makerbot.com/thingomatic-doc:makerbot-motherboard-2-4
-
Internal Drive Buzzer (see discussion below, note this is not the one suggested in makerbot's docs)
-
Jetty firmware V2.3 or higher: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:15380
Optional:
Gen 4 LCD Interface
Buzzer: You require a Piezo Continuous Tone Internal Drive buzzer that will run off 5V and use no more than 20mA. This buzzer contains a circuit inside that produces a continuous fixed tone when powered.
There are many buzzers that will work, I used the following 100dB buzzer mounted externally on the bot, and it's "Loud" (you can always tape over the hole to reduce volume): BRP4016L-12-C: http://www.icc-intervox.com/inc/Intervox_catalog/page17.pdf http://www.futureelectronics.com/en/technologies/passives/buzzers/Pages/5692009-BRP4016L-12-C.aspx?Language=en-US
This will also work: http://search.digikey.com/us/en/products/PB-1408-1/433-1065-ND/1245336
Note: External drive and electromagnetic / coil buzzers and speakers will not work and could damage your Arduino Mega.
Instruções
-
Solder buzzer onto the Motherboard in the location labelled "Piezo". (I chose to mount mine outside of the case so it was louder, so I soldered wires and a connector to the motherboard instead)
-
Install Jetty firmware V2.3 or higher: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:15380
-
If you require GCode support for controlling your buzzer, use this ReplicatorG: https://github.com/jetty840/ReplicatorG (Not required for the default Buzzing on Build Complete, Pause@ZPos and Safety Cutout triggered)
Note: Signal on Build Complete, only occurs when building from SD Card. For building direct from a computer, add GCode "M214 I2 J3 K3" to your "end.gcode"
