Descrição
I couldn't find a coaster thing that I liked so I made my own. I also wanted to play with the new translucent PLA colors from Makerbot that I had just received so I made my coasters as thin as possible to showcase the colorful translucency.
The ribs on the coaster provide rigidity at a low cost, reduce the contact area with the beverage container and for circular containers provides some resistance from slippage.
Total weight for all 10 coasters and the holder is 102 grams.
See the instructions tab for information about optimal printing parameters.
Instruções
These models are designed to be printed on the "low" setting in MakerWare, or a .3 mm layer height. Most of the walls are .6 mm so the number of shells doesn't really matter, you should end up with a double thickness wall. The base is also .6 mm so there should only be two layers at the .3 mm layer height. All of this thinness both makes prints from translucent filament look cool and saves plastic.
These are the measuremtns I get from printing on the "low" setting in MakerWare:
One coaster is 9.2 grams
All ten are 92 grams
The base is 10 grams
In total 10 coasters and teh holder comes to 102 grams
Note: I could make a Customizer version of this thing but I am not sure what people would want to customize.
