The idea for this came from the thought that there are plenty of places in the world where the tools to create machinery are scarce or non-existent, but thread is typically plentiful. A fully plastic sewing machine could be a real help to people, allowing the process of mending cloth to be sped up quite a lot. This machine is by no means finished, and the shaft to hold the needle is really just a place-holder, but if I can find the help or the time, I may eventually perfect this design!

The current version is not quite a sewing machine yet! Print out all the parts, including an extra both of the 2" gear and the pin. The gears will need to be bonded to the shafts, and the guide for the shaft in the chassis may need to be widened for smooth operation.
