A light up hand held mirror.

A local production of Beauty & the Beast Jr needed a magic mirror prop for the show.

•Print each part. Glue Mirror parts 1-9 together. •Trace inside edge of frame onto a piece of plexiglass (Mirrored or clear). cut out with a Band Saw. If you are using clear plexiglass, paint the backside of the plexiglass with silver paint. (I did this since I was only creating a stage prop not a real mirror) •Trace the outer edge of the mirror (excluding the handle) onto a piece of thin plywood (1/4" or 1/8" or 3mm or similar) Cut out with band saw, this will be the backside of the mirror. •On the backside of the mirror, decorate as desired. Included are some little gee-gaws to print and glue on. See included Picture.

•Paint mirror if you don't have metallic plastic to print with. I used a water-based primer first and then a brush on silver paint. (although the silver was done after assembly)

•Put 10mm LED into each hole of parts 1-8, hot glue into place. •Mount Momentary switch into side hole of the handle (part #9) •Wire up LEDs appropriately. Depending on the batteries and LEDs you use, the resistors will differ. To figure out your resistor needs, use an online LED calculator, like: http://led.linear1.org/led.wiz . The Channel inside the frame (Parts 1-8) is large enough for the wires and LEDs. It is large enough for CR2032 batteries as well. •Test all connections! •Test fit printed parts with plexiglass and back panel. Keep Plexiglass aligned with the inside of the back panel. •Trace location of Plexiglass onto panel. •Glue plexiglass to the inside face of panel. •Glue Back Panel to Frame. (I used Gaffer's tape incase I needed to change batteries during rehearsal/ performance)
