It's easy to turn a webcam into a simple microscope using a jewellers loupe. They can be had for less than 2 euros on the web.

This is an adapter I designed to fit my cheapo loupe. Not the highest quality, but enough to identify the colour bands on resistors.

Edit the parameters to suit your loupe.

Print it out and snap it onto your loupe.

Fit webcam on to loupe and attach by hooking an elastic band over the hooks on the side.
