A set of rough and ready battery holders for little projects.

This set has STL files for AA, AAA, C and D sizes, with holders for 1 to 4 cells each.

There is also an OpenSCAD script to generate whatever holder you need.

This is a simple battery holder set. For those times when you need a battery holder and can't be bothered going to the shops.

Instructions:
1: Choose the holder you want
2: Print it (no supports)
3: Wire it
4: Connect to your project

To wire it I use pre-tinned 0.71mm copper wire looped around the hourglass shape at the end of each bay. The give in the plastic causes the pressure that holds the cell in place. If you use a different gauge of wire you may need to modify the 'space' variable in the OpenSCAD script.

I have used the AAA holders in several projects. The batteries are held firmly in place and have not needed anything else to hold them in. The contacts are good. The other sizes are untested but should be fine. If not, play with the script until it works.
