I know I know, the last thing Thingiverse needs is another phone case, but this is more about sharing an idea than offering anything to download, such is the true personal nature of this thing.

My daughter Lauren, went round her friendship group and asked them to write down their tag on a piece of paper. A bit of graphics manipulation later and a conversion into .dxf cad file I was able to deboss these into a truly personalised phone case for her.

For that special one off gift, I hope this inspires others to make something like this too.

Workfow :
1 . Scan the image by taking a picture of it.
2. Use Gimp/Photshop etc to manipulate the image into monochrome b/w.
3. Create the cad profile .dxf by using this free image to cad software from http://www.img2cad.com/
4. Import the .dxf file into your favorite CAD package to create the deboss.

I have not included the actual personalised case for the reason that I do not want it printed by anyone else (why should they want to?) and afterall, it is meant to be unique. I have however uploaded a free iPhone 4 for the first million downloaders.

I printed the case with only a single perimeter around the infill, this gave the best definition for the lettering.
