Descrição
The leaf lamp is intended to be placed by the door to provide a dim illumination when returning home. The bowl shape serves as a catchall for keys, change and cell phones.
I'm using an arduino uno to pulse the LED's, sometimes in combination with a proximity sensor to adjust the maximum brightness.
Thanks to clothbot for the idea of using aluminum foil as both a ground plate and a reflective surface.
Instruções
- Print all parts in white plastic, with zero infill (to allow the light to spread throughout the piece better) and glue or bond together.
- Cut a piece of aluminum foil to the shape of the leaf.
- Form foil to the bottom of the leaf, shiny side in, and poke holes in line with the LED holes.
- Place (or glue) LED's in holes and bend ground leads down to contact foil.
- Using tape or any other method, secure ground leads to foil.
- Tape over entire surface of foil with electrically insulating tape (I used kapton and it looks really nice).
- Bend positive leads down flat with taped surface.
- Wire in whatever way you see fit (I wired 8 of the LED's in pairs, and the remaining 6 in threes, including the resistors on the bottom of the leaf, to make them fit with the 6 pwm pins on my arduino).
- Cover with another layer of insulating tape.
- Glue edges of foil to bottom of leaf
- Wire and program LED controller
