This project aims to be a small tribute to Akira Toriyama from a teacher's perspective, for his ability to unite different generations through a shared passion.

Akira Toriyama passed away on Friday, March 1, 2024. The news had a significant impact at the middle school where I teach. This inspired the idea of proposing an activity based on his work. But how could we do it? The subject I teach, Technology, is only scheduled for two hours a week and by March we were already well into the course.

The answer came naturally: around the same time, the first surprises from Dragon Ball-themed Easter eggs started appearing. A student who had two Vegeta figurines kindly decided to give me one, which became the basis for experiments in 3D scanning, 3D printing and Augmented Reality.

Not only did this fit perfectly with the ongoing activities, but it also allowed all my students to have a small memento of a great Master.

The files contain two versions of the figurine: one is suitable for 3D printing (high resolution, no colors) and the other is a lighter version with textures, suitable for use in real-time applications (such as video games, virtual reality/augmented reality, and similar).

It took several optimization tests, but now the model can be printed and assembled easily without the need for glue. On the Prusa i3 MK2s, printing takes about 3 hours, on the Ender 3 Pro/V2 it takes less than 5 hours (Prusa Slicer profiles).
