Smaller EMS Filament Rollers For 3rd Party Spools

These replacement rollers are a replacement for the Bambu Labs AMS Driven Support Shaft Assembly. They provide additional clearance for cardboard spools with printed plastic guards. Even with the thinnest spool rings I could print, my AMS still did not have enough clearance. Unlike a lid spacer, these rollers will not affect the seal on the AMS lid.

Installation Instructions

• Bearings Needed: You will need 2x bearings, which can be taken from the pre-installed bearings on the Driven Support Shaft Assembly inside your AMS.
• Removing Old Rollers: Lightly pry up the old rollers to remove them. The bearings on both sides need to be removed if you want to reuse them. On my machine, one side came off easily, while the other required some additional prying.
• Installing New Rollers: Put the bearings onto the new rollers and pop them into place.

Printing

You can print the roller as a single part with supports or as two halves with a connecting rod. Use your preferred settings, but ensure the Seam Position is set to random to avoid creating a bump for your spool.

Single Part (Roller Full.stp):

Print vertically with supports with Seam Position as random.

As Split Part (Roller Half Side.stp & Roller Half Core Rod)

Print 2x half rollers and 1x core vertically without supports with Seam Position as random.

Bearing Dimensions are ID: 3mm, OD: 8mm, Height: 4mm. Bambu labs does not appear to sell them in their store.
