TLDR; I modified and improved a camera mount for the A1 Mini to fit the Ring Indoor Camera. There's a second mount that lets the camera tilt down a little more. Hope you like it!
So I have a buddy who just recently got an A1 Mini and wanted to mount his Ring Indoor Camera to the printer since the built-in camera sucks. Well the only models we could find were for Blink cameras and after printing it out, we realized the Ring camera wouldn't fit. So I decided to bring the model into Fusion 360 and adapt it to work with the Ring Camera. Well after several iterations and improvements, I present the perfect Ring Camera mount for the A1 Mini.
This is a remix of the Blink Camera mount by panto.
This mount has been adapted to fit the Ring Indoor Camera. You will have to take the base off of the camera so that only the ball is attached. It isn't difficult but will take some patience since the base plate is pretty firmly attached, just a few screws and a little careful prying and you'll have it off.
Both models have an added brace to give the mount some additional ridigity so it doesn't bounce as much while the printer is moving. Additionally, I added fuzzy skin to the socket and tab that attaches the mount to the printer for better grip.
You will notice two models on the build plate when you open the file. The one at the front is the standard mount with the added fuzzy skin, increased rigidity, modified socket, and adjusted positioning for a better bed view.
The second model closest to the back of the plate has a modified socket so the camera can tilt a little further forward to get a full view of the build plate.
I would highly recommend printing this in PETG for the small amount of flexibility it provides to the socket arms. I tried printing this in PLA but the little arms that hold the ball kept snapping since PLA isn't quite as flexible as PETG.
The included print profiles have everything set up including a little support under the mounting tab that should easily snap off after printing.
Thanks for staying and reading all of that…if you like my remix, please leave a comment and rating or give it a boost if you're feeling extra generous!
I'll add photos of the second low angle mount once my buddy with the A1 Mini prints it and sends me the photos. But for now, the ones here are of the regular mount.
Happy printing!
