Spool Holder with Bearing and Customizable Adapters

This 3D printed spool holder provides a versatile and highly customizable solution for managing filament spools during your 3D printing projects. Key features include:

Customizability:

• Includes an adapter for the Ender 3 printer out of the box, but you can design your own adapters to fit other printers.
• It is possible to create a foot for the other side to provide additional stability.
• The rod protrudes slightly on one side to allow the addition of a future Auto-Rewind mechanism (such as a pulley, rack, or helical spring system)

Bearing-Supported Rotation:

• Utilizes 608ZZ bearings to ensure smooth, low-friction spool rotation
• The bearings can also be 3D printed if needed

Printing

• 0.2mm layer height
• 50% or more gyroide infill
• 8 walls
• centerCylinder printed vertically with standard supports at the bottom
• spoolBase printed horizontally without supports
• ender3Adapter printed at 45° with tree supports for maximum strength

Parts

• 2 x 608ZZ bearings (can be printed)
• 1x 100mm x 8mm steel or carbon fiber rod (can also be 3D printed)

Assembly

• Insert the rod into the center cylinder (easier with a drill)
• Add a bearing on each side of the rod
• Clip the assembly onto the spool base
• Slide your chosen printer adapter into place
   

Note: The tolerances are designed to be tight for maximum strength, so some post-processing (such as sanding) may be required for a smooth fit.
