Recently I created and uploaded a drawer organizer system with grid. The system works very well but……. While using my system, I found out I needed smaller containers. The large grid in the previous version doesn't allow single small containers so back to the drawing board.

This new system has a small 17.5mm grid. Why 17.5mm? Simple. I have several items to store which are small. So I want a container which is small but also big enough to conveniently put in my finger to get the items out.

My index finger measures 22mm wide. I want some room to spare for my finger so inner dimensions should be bigger than 22mm. So 25mm? Could work. Add some wall thickness of 2mm. Add some extra space between containers and get 30mm grid. Don't ask me why but eventually I came up with 17.5mm times 2 = 35mm wide boxes with 17.5mm grid.

Long story short.

Here is my new version (actually in my van from work).

My van has ALUCA shelves. The drawers can hold 21 grid segments. That's why one of the grid bottoms is 7 by 10 grid. Also I added 10x10 grid and 1x10 grid.

Print the bottom parts, hook them together. Print containers in different sizes, put them on the grid and have fun puzzeling/arranging.

All boxes can be printed without support (even though Prusa Slicer is whining about overhangs). Just ignore. Happy printing!

Oh, containers are stackable (smaller ones cannot be placed on bigger ones……. overhang problem? ;-) )

Note:

Smallest 2 containers (2x2 and 2x3) have a 10mm fillet on the bottom.  The reason has to do with the small copper gaskets I store in those containers. The bigger fillet makes it more easy to get them out.

Alle other containers have 5mm fillet.
