I spent a few late nights designing this as a fun project, trying my skills and just trying to get this as good as possible.
To make this, you need:
- to print all parts (.3mf files supplied for orientation and settings I used).
- you need some M3 screws, a few of them countersunk.
- 1 battery holder for 2x18650 batteries (~75mm x 40 mm dimension).
- 1 x arduino nano.
- 2 x 9g servos.
- a few wires and tools to solder.
- 2 x toggle small switches.
Code:
- All code at this point is based on the code found here, but with some modifications.
- I do plan on doing more changes, like adding random actions, knocking etc.
- after assembly, you may need to adjust the top and bottom positions to make the arm move correctly, and to make sure the lid get closed properly.
Assembly:
- do not tap threads in the parts, some parts need the friction to keep the screws in place without tightening them too much.
- The arduino has 4 pins in the “box” to keep it in place, put it there and heat the pins to make the dev board stay in place.
- both servos has mounting points in the “box”, use the screws supplied with the servos.
- both servo arm attachments has pins going trough the supplied “single arm” attachment, these can also be melted to keep it in place. A slightly longer screw than supplies is also needed.
- all parts can be mounted before the “right wall” is installed.
- in my case, the toggle switch I had was to stiff for the servo to toggle, so i ended up taking it apart and shorten the spring in it to get it less stiff.
