Modelo 3D Interlocking rhombus tiles por Paul Callahan no Printables

Descrição

These tiles fit together like jigsaw pieces and hold when lifting when I print them in PLA on a Flashforge 3D printer. The tiles can be flipped between "S" and "Z" sides to make a variety of lozenge tilings. Strictly alternating will give you a rhombic grid while keeping all the same orientation collects them into hexagons. These can be mixed. (The curious can look up Percy Alexander MacMahon's work on lozenge tiling.)

Each rhombus is 1cm on a side. Though they are small, they print well and snap together. I printed this in PLA on a Flashforge Adventurer 3 Pro 2, and I did some trial and error getting the snaps to fit but also be liftable. The small space between tiles is intentional and prevents warping. You might be able to get better aesthetics than the photo if you print at higher density.

There is no real "puzzle" here because it is easy to extend a tiling. But it can be used to pass time or make aesthetically pleasing lozenge tilings, which also look like an orthographic projection of stacks cubes.
