Descrição
These eclipse glass frames are designed to be 100% printed, with no supports and with no additional hardware. Featuring a fully folding design and adjustable ear depth to make sure they sit correctly and don't fall off! They're quite comfortable and fairly secure when adjusted correctly. The arms swing wider than the frame so they should still fit larger heads.
Recommend print settings:
- PETG
- 0.2mm Structural
- NO SUPPORTS!
A textured build sheet had plenty of adhesion without a brim, but I printed in an enclosure. If you don't have an enclosure a brim may be helpful.
Assembly instructions:
- Print one of each part
- Using small pliers, remove the “barrel” support in each of the hinges - these are designed to print in place and will snap off when you crush them with the pliers
- Insert the arms into the hinges, making sure the correct arm is on the correct side (the rounded edge should sit against the ear) - there should be some friction here
- Align the holes in the frames/arm hinges as well as you can to prepare for the next step
- Push a piece of 1.75mm PETG filament into each hinge from the top so it goes all the way through the arm and into the bottom portion of the hinge, then cut off the top flush
- Slide one ear support onto each arm
- Insert the eclipse glasses
It's best to trim the paper arms from the glasses at this point, but make sure they fit first!
These should fit most “typical” eclipse glasses. Sizing, however, may vary. I recommend printing the frame first to see if your particular glasses fit. If not, you may be able to trim the glasses to fit better, or you can adjust the design as needed. Remixes are welcome!
