Welcome to ModuMate!
This project was born out of my desire to tidy up my desk while learning Fusion 360. I decided to make it modular and share it here.
The Organizer: The sizes are scaled around 75mm. The heights are 37.5mm, 75mm, and 150mm, while the widths/depths are 75mm, 150mm, and 225mm. The organizer is stackable via triangle locking keys (refer to the stacking bases section for more information) and can be attached to another box of similar height (see the corners section for more information).
Bases: There are three main features on the base models:
- Blocked - This base includes three wall cutouts and one blocked up. This would be used, for example, in a drawer box on the edge where the drawer opening would be.
- Flat - This base is flat (with my logo on it) and will generally be used on the bottom.
- Stacking - This base includes key cutouts to connect (with the stacking key) to another stacking base. There are combinations of sizes and features included.
Corners: There are four main features on the corner models:
- Joining - These corners include a male and female variant. They connect via a dovetail on the external edge, allowing you to connect two boxes of the same height together.
- Blank - These corners have clips to connect to one wall and are blank on the other. These will be used with the blocked walls.
- Thin - These are the standard corners. When installed, the base/lids will have a lipped edge.
- Thick - These are the thicker corners. They allow for the lid/base to sit flush with the thick walls.
Drawers: The drawers are self-explanatory. I’ve created different size variants with different inserts: single box, double box, and grid boxes.
Lids: This is an area where I was lacking. I created what I needed and moved onto another part. I’ve included a few lids: 75x75 Big Grid, 75x75 Small Grid, 75x75 Open Lid, 75x75 Pen Lid, and 150x150 Phone/Tablet stand.
Walls: There are four types of walls:
- Thin Walls - These are the standard walls. Like the corners, they will leave a lip on the lid/base.
- Thick Walls - Like the thick corners, they will leave a flush mount to the lid/base.
- Hexagon Walls - These are a hex pattern that we all know and love. They only come in a thick variant.
- Tambour Door Walls - These walls are for the tambour doors. They come in a left and right. Like the other components, they come in a variety of sizes, etc.
Add-ons:
- StackingKey4mm - This is the key for the stacking system.
- Tambour Doors - These are the doors for the tambour walls.
