Descrição
As an experiment in transparent printing, I embossed hexagons into the lid to make it half as thick except for the ribs between the hexagons, and printed in 3D Printing Canada PC+ Transparent filament using a max of 20 mm/s for the bottom 6 layers. Transparency isn't great - it would probably improve using the various suggestions from the Prusa Blog and other forum posts.
I also embossed the word “Voltmeter” on the lid using 3D Printing Canada PC+ White. Import the STL file for the lid instead of the STEP file if you want to avoid the lettering.
To print the lid:
- Import the STEP file (not the STL which excludes the lettering) for the lid.
- Place the top of the lid on the build plate.
- Set up for multicolour printing (single extruder multiple colours in my case) using the instructions by minor havoc from [https://forum.prusa3d.com/forum/postid/562228/](https://forum.prusa3d.com/forum/postid/562228/)
- Assign “SOLID_A” to the default extruder (transparent in my case), and all letters “Componentxx_B” to extruder 2 (white)
- Split the model into 2 at the 1.2 mm layer, and change the following parameters for “SOLID_B” to 20 mm/s:
- external perimeters
- gap fill
- infill
- perimeters
- small perimeters
- solid infill
- top solid infill
- I didn't do this, but I think it would help clean up the letters - change the same speed parameters for all the letters (named “Componentxx_B”)
- Everything else default except possibly 0.2mm STRUCTURAL w/ Gyroid infill, 0.4 mm nozzle
I printed the box bottom and latches from 3D Printing Canada PETG+ Blue and White with standard settings (0.2 mm layers, 0.4 mm nozzle, full MK4 IS).
I didn't print a seal but the STL file is there for it. I also included my Fusion360 export for your amusement.
Uses 6 M3x30mm bolts for the hinges and latches.
