Easy to print handle for a window/balcony door so it can be closed from the outside.

Model Info

All model files include the handle in its specific height and the screws covers. Make sure to choose “No” on importing the model into your slicer, when the message pops up, wether to load the model as individual object with multiple parts. You can then go ahead and just delete the screw covers before slicing the model, if you prefer the handle without.

There are 3 handle sizes to choose from: 10mm, 15mm, and 20mm. This refers to the total height of the handle. You can choose your preference based on available space (you might want/need a low profile handle) and/or ease of use. I find the 15mm variant the best option both in terms of handleability and looks.

The screw holes are placed 48mm apart and should fit M3 sized countersunk screws. There are also covers which you can place on top of the screw holes to cover them. I fixed mine with a little bit of superglue, but hot glue should work too. The covers are fairly thin. If you prefer them a bit thicker, should scale the z-height in the slicer (be sure to only scale in one axis).

If you need to remove the screws just pop the cover with a flathead screwdriver or a knive. The cover might get destroyed if you glued it in place, but this should not be an issue, since you propably only need to reach the screws if you want to replace the handle anyways.

The CAD files are also included, if you want to make some changes to the model or create a remix.

Printing

Avoid printing in PLA if you want to place it outdoors, since it doesn't handle UV light very well. Otherwise you might have to replace it every couple of month or so. But this shouldn't be an issue either, since it prints quite fast and does not require much filament. I printed mine in Prusament ASA.
