Finger switch for the Playstation Access controller, with multiple mountings and optional spring to adjust resistance.
To make a switch, three parts should be printed:
- Switch base with optional plate
- Switch cap(s)
- Hinge pin
For each switch, you will also need:
- 12mm x 12mm x 7.3mm tactile switch (e.g. [https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/omron-electronics-inc-emc-div/B3F-5050/368377](https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/omron-electronics-inc-emc-div/B3F-5050/368377))
- 3.5mm mono cable (e.g. [https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/tensility-international-corp/10-00344/2350247](https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/tensility-international-corp/10-00344/2350247))
- (Optional) 6.5mm x 10mm spring
See the attached PDF for detailed assembly instructions ("Light_Touch_Switch_Assembly_Manual.pdf"), plus the additional assembly tips below.
Five versions of the base are included, with single or double switches and an optional plate for stability:
- Single switch
- Double switch
- Single switch with plate
- Double switch with plate
- Double switch with plate and wider spacing
Two versions of the cap are included:
- Reverse (hinge towards cable). This allows an optional spring to be fitted to increase resistance, but the supports can be difficult to remove. This should be printed on its side, with full support.
- Original (hinge towards palm). This is easier to print, but the spring cannot be fitted. This should be printed on its side with support on the base plate only.
Additional assembly tips:
The hinge pin includes two different sizes; use the size that fits tightly but can be fully inserted. If neither size fits, try scaling the pin to 90%.
When using the reverse cap, pressing the cable firmly down into the slot should avoid blocking the pin, but it might still be too thick. If so, put the pin in from one side as far as it will go and cut it, then do the same on the other side. For double switches, a thinner cable might be necessary.
