Descrição
I backed 3dprinteracademy's thread boards last summer (you can google it) as I wanted to do something for my son's room. Unfortunately, the bundle fell short in some areas, so I made some parts to complement this project and then shared them. The picture of the printed pieces are in Bambu Labs Matte Ivory PLA.
All structure-related screws I printed at 100% infill just to make sure they were solid.
In the picture, the core backboard on the wall came from the original bundle, but the other sites/items here are my creations.
I am using the 8mm thick thread boards mounted to the wall.
Wall mount screw - The original kit did not have a mounting screw with a head and would leave the boards loose. I created this mount so I could screw it all the way down to the thread board, creating even distance on the back to the wall in all mount places while having all boards tight to the mounting screw.
- The threaded part of the screw is 22MM long. Using the 8mm thread board board, that allows it to be 14mm off the wall.
- The 5mm center hole allows a #8 screw (into the stud) or 3/16 ish toggle bolt mount/anchor
- Made a center cap to cover the center of the mounting screw.
- I printed this with the head of the screw against the build plate with tree supports inside with 100% infill.
Back mount screw - I created this to work in combination with the custom wall mount screws, so when used from the back side with the connection plates (how you join each main plate together), the top of the screw head would be flush against the wall. This prevents any bowing of the panels when spanning great distances. I used 4mm panel connecting plates for rigidity.
3-hole by 9-hole plate cover - This hides any cables running to the TV. It has a channel large enough to cover 2-3 HDMI cables and a power cable.
4mm -nut - A couple of my mounting brackets also went through a connecting plate connecting two main thread boards. I used the washer to secure the connecting plate to the wall mount screw that went through it.
Shelf mounting screw: I redid this since the ones in the kit had very thick heads and just looked like a toy or just kinda out of place. I made one with a domed head and reduced it a bit so you can tighten it, but it looks clean.
Shelves: While the bundle had a few floating shelves, they did not meet my needs and didn't look all that great, in my opinion. I wanted some that were longer, reinforced, and had a lip/border on the edge of the outer part of the shelf so things don't fall off. All versions included are the same width (distance from the wall). I have a few different length options. I included some pictures with dimensions (all in MM) from sketches in Fusion 360.
- Single shelf
- Expandable shelf - The different parts will be flush with no gaps between a left/right/center pieces
- Double version (left and right pieces only) are shown holding my son's steam deck
- You can print the middle piece and have three wide+ shelves. (just keep adding centerpieces to it to make it longer)
- It has under-shelf supports, and it's very secure once secured to the threadboard.
I also made some custom screw mounts for the LED light but didn't upload those as it's a one-off.
As I continue this project, anything else I make I will add.
