Like many I make a benchy every time I get a new filament colour, not to test the printer specifically but to have a model which shows the colour and the properties in a series of geometry scenarios.

I found the drydock model remix with the angled stand (linked as remix) and available here  - [https://www.printables.com/model/385827-3d-benchy-dry-dock-display-stand](https://www.printables.com/model/385827-3d-benchy-dry-dock-display-stand) which looked perfect, to display and have as a counter top piece. However my primary issue was the amount of plastic needed for the main modules and the additional pieces. The ‘docks’ hide most of the model, using prusaslicer I cut the model in half (deleted the top 15mm). The boats still stay put and they become the focus. However this stand then does not work as well. Using the base I utilised the holes in the dock to connect to the base through pins, which print without support. This removed the need for side pieces. 

Secondly I wanted the base to be modular, I have a lot of boats and it keeps growing. I have a clip which fits into a support free hole in the side and allows the base to grow and grow.

I'm currently using 6 in a 3x2 arrangement and the modular aspect allows this to easily grow but also to disassemble is needed to travel to shows and markets.
