The classic wooden mouse trap is not  very effective. The problem is that the mouse often enters the trap from the wrong direction, and the trap misfires and flips around.

I made this very simple house for the traps, sold in Austria under the brand name Windhager. (I think this trap is sold under several different brand names on amazon.de)

The house solves three problems. 

• A snug fit makes the traps more stable
• The mouse will enter from the correct direction. 
• You can  bait the trap near the rear wall of the trap, and the mouse can't steal the bait this way.
