Pacman ice cube tray

One challenge of 3d printing is food safety: even if the plastic is food safe the printed result probably has small pores where bacteria can hide. So you want to use a food-safe mold making material. I use copyflex by makeyourownmold.com. You print this, and it forms a mold that you use to create a mold using the food-safe material. I have done similar things in the past, and you have a problem getting the mold out without destroying your 3d print. This has a sleeve that you print along with the mold. You put the sleeve in, and when your mold is ready you pull the sleeve out. Now you have space to grab the mold. In any case, this is intended for 80s video game themed drinks, maybe chocolate, or any other reason you can think of to need a pacman-shaped mold.

So you print the 2 parts, and place the sleeve inside the rest of the mold. Spray with PAM or other cooking spray. Mix up some of the mold making material, and pour it in. You don't need to fill all the way to the top of the sleeve, but you do want to cover the top of the shape. You don't want bubbles in there, so you want to slam it down on a table to dislodge them. Also, use a toothpick to rub along the perimeter of the shapes in the mold. Hopefully that gets all the bubbles out, but if there are any you can always fill them later. After the 4 hour cure time, pull the sleeve out. Then pull the mold out. Wash the mold off, and you are ready to go.
