Descrição
This is a simple guard piece that will mount to the extrusion and keep things from interfering with the bed path on the Prusa Mini and help protect the bed itself from being bumped around during transport.
Extends roughly 11mm past print surface (6mm width and 5mm clearance), and about 35mm past the front and rear plate.
Printing
I printed mine with 0.2mm layer height and 3 perimeters with 25% infill. You can probably get away with less. Piece can be printed on either side, only issue I noticed was a tiny bit of drooping on the overhanging point where the counterbore meets the angled surface. Its hard to notice unless you are really looking, shown in last picture, results were similar with both PETG and PLA I tried.
Material
I recommend PETG. It bolts on nicely with a very solid fit. It is possible to use PLA, I undersized the indexing tabs by 0.5mm so that they were no longer press fit and there would be no clearance issues with PLA. I have tested PLA and it works, but without the deformation of the PETG, the PLA never seemed to lock in as solidly.
Hardware
Per Piece
- 1x M5x12 bolt (M5x10 in a pinch if you are not concerned with thread engagement)
- 1x M5 T-Nuts for 3030 extrusion
(the counterbore is 11mm so will fit a small M5 washer which I used for mine)
