Shoe trees can serve a dual purpose, holding the shape of a shoe and destroying microorganisms. I printed this shoe tree with Copper3D PLACTIVE AN1 blue filament. Laboratory studies confirm PLACTIVE rapidly reduces colony forming units of common microbes, including Staphylococcus aureus MRSA and Escherichia coli DH5α, achieving more than 99.99% elimination within 24 hours. 

This print requires supports. If you will be using PLACTIVE AN1, I recommend allowing the print to remain in your enclosure for about 20 minutes and removing the supports soon afterwards. The supports are difficult to remove when the print has cooled for hours.
