Descrição
I created this stand to hold my cell phone steady while viewing dates and mint marks on coins, but you can use this for anything you need to zoom in on. The phone tray is sized for an iPhone 14 Pro, but should hold many different brands of phones. Tested with iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone XS. Create a new phone tray without having to reprint the whole stand.
Printing instructions:
- Printed in PLA
- 3 perimeters
- 15% infill unless otherwise noted
- All parts should print easily on a Prusa MK4. No supports required.
Parts:
- Base
- 30% infill (i wanted it to have some weight)
- Base cover shell
- Adjustment bottom nut
- Adjustment top nut
- Threaded shaft
- 10mm brim
- Phone tray
- You may want to add some “mouse ears” on the right side (side with the cutout). I used 45mm x 45mm x 0.25mm and it printed with no warping. Please see .3mf file.
- Top cap (optional)
Assembly:
You'll need one each of the base, cover shell, bottom nut, top nut, threaded shaft and tray.
I was unable to get the base printed as a single piece without major warping, so I used PrusaSlicer to cut the base into 3 parts. I used the dovetail setting, 8mm x 25mm, which worked great. I didn't want to see the dovetails, which is why I created the cover shell. It will print in one piece as it's only 2mm thick. I designed it so that the side that was on the print bed faces up when slid on top of the base, making for a very uniform top surface, giving it a finished appearance. If the surface gets soiled or ruined, it's easy enough to replace the shell. Tolerances are close on the shell.
The bottom adjustment nut is used to set a comfortable height for the tray as well as provide some support. The threads have been modeled for 3d printing with plenty of tolerance built in.
The tray slides over the threaded shaft and sits on the bottom nut.
Use the top nut if you'd like to take all the movement out of the tray.
The top cap is just for decoration. It hides the top of the threaded shaft.
Finally, the threaded shaft screws into the base.
