I always enjoy a simple modern way to store things like this toothpick dispenser in a hexagonal form.  This one stores your toothpicks with a slow-motion closing action.
 

Printing Recommendations:

1.  Great use of the many color choices of PLA.  Let's see how you customize it to make it your own!
2. Print the basket in PETG - it is more robust than PLA for this part.
3. Use 2-3mm brims for all parts - this is especially recommended for the basket and body.
4. The lid needs some very small supports on the center hole area.
5. Remove any stringing with a lighter or mini-torch before assembly .

Assembly Instructions:

1. Glue the lid to the basket with epoxy or a dab of superglue (CA glue).
2. Assemble together and test the slide action.
3. Drop in up to 150 toothpicks - no more.
4. Do not over-fill the basket - else the toothpicks will not spread out much when opening the dispenser, and may simply drop out!

Usage Notes:

1. Just pull up the lid to reveal your toothpicks as they spread out for the taking.
2. Let gravity slowly lower it back down.
