Descrição
A practical jig designed for use with a 5 mm self-centering (Vix) drill bit, ideal for drilling consistent and accurate shelf pin or hinge holes. This jig supports both edge-based alignment and internal positioning, making it versatile enough for various cabinet and furniture setups. For longer pieces, the jig can be repositioned by indexing off previously drilled holes, allowing accurate extension along the workpiece.
Highlights
- Comes in both 28 mm and 37 mm spacing variants to suit different build standards
- Compatible with 5 mm Vix bits, including those with 8 mm outer sleeves like the Festool ZB HS D5
- Can be aligned against the workpiece edge using the included pins or placed flush against the back for interior alignment
- Supports progressive repositioning by aligning with previously drilled holes
- Includes a depth guide optimized for 11 mm holes—suitable for standard pins or hinge screw fittings
- Customizable through MakerWorld or with the included SCAD file using your preferred tool
Printing & Post-Processing
No special printing steps required, but 50% infill is recommended to ensure strength during clamping. PLA works fine for occasional use, though PETG or ABS will offer greater durability over time. After printing, test the fit of the pins—they should be snug but not overly tight. You can slightly tweak pin dimensions if needed. For best results, use a smooth print surface; a textured bed may imprint onto the jig and transfer marks to your project during clamping.
