Do you have an old workshop floor stand light that you wish had smart features? Look no further! This project allows you to retrofit your existing light with Xiaomi Smart Plug 2 components, giving you the ability to control your light via the Mi Home app.

What You'll Need:

• Xiaomi Smart Plug 2
• 3D Printer
• Basic electronics tools (soldering iron, wire strippers, etc.)

Steps:

1. Tear Down: Open up the Xiaomi Smart Plug 2 and carefully remove the necessary electronics.
2. Design: Download the 3D-printable casing STL files.
3. 3D Print: Print the casing using your 3D printer.
4. Assembly: Place the Xiaomi Smart Plug 2 components into the new casing. For signal LED reuse original plastic part from plug, just cut it to measure. Screws: M3 x 20mm 2 pcs and M2 x 20mm 2 pcs. PCB is screwed using screws from original plug case.
5. Installation: Attach the newly cased electronics to your old floor stand light.
6. Setup: Configure the device using the Mi Home app to integrate it into your smart home system.
