I chose to put the fence of the square on one side only. I wanted to use the square as a guide when cross cutting wood, and I found that small circular saws often have projecting bits that would catch on the upper side of the fence. It also makes it much easier to print.
It looks nice sliced with a colour change to make the numbers stand out.
The model has a slide out piece in the fence. The idea is that I can use it to measure how far in the blade of a circular saw or jigsaw is from the edge of the saw base, and then offset the square from the cutting line by the same amount. I've yet to test this out.
