After I bought a 2kg spool of filament, I realized I had nowhere to properly mount it. I did, however, have two of the injection molded spool arms. So, I endeavored to create a mounting system that bridged the spool arms, could hold a 2kg spool, and also be removable to allow for quickly changing it out. Alternatively, you can place two 1kg spools on the connecting arm, allowing you to have four spools on top of your printer.

Notes

• I printed the connecting arm in PETG, but the mounts and inserts did better for me when printed in PLA.
• The bearing adapters can be printed in either material, and were designed to fit these spool bearings.
• I used gel superglue on the inserts. To ensure the best fit, clean up any excess glue and insert the mount into the spool arm before the glue fully cures. This will make the mounts easier to move around. 
• When inserting the mount into the spool arm, you may need to firmly press it in to get the mount into the correct position before turning.

Print Settings

• Nozzle Size - 0.4mm
• Layer Height - 0.2mm
• Infill - 15% Hexagon
• Perimeters - 4-6 (for increased strength)
