Modelo 3D LTT "Quick Bits" Case & Stand for Linus Tech Tips Screwdriver Bits por JH3D no Printables

Descrição

I designed a case to hold every (currently) available screwdriver bit from lttstore.com (with the exception of the bits you store in the regular-sized screwdriver). This case holds 60 20mm bits, AKA the five additional bit sets you can purchase.

I wanted this design to be as compact and feature-packed as possible. Each bit is held in place with an optional magnet underneath, and the case itself is held shut with magnets on the sides, all of which are embedded in the model mid-print. The top of the case can also be used as a two-sectioned parts tray. I even designed the divider to go between the bits when the case is closed, to keep things as compact as possible.

You might be thinking that the bits are too close together to be able to get your fingers in there and pick up the desired bit, and you're right (unless you have tiny fingers). This is a feature, not a bug! To get out a bit, you actually use the screwdriver… the magnet inside the shaft is stronger than the magnetic force holding the bit in the case (if you choose to add magnets that is), and as a result can easily pick the bit out of the case.

As a bonus, I've also included the model for the stand I designed to display both the LTT screwdriver, as well as the Quick Bits case.

Additional Materials Needed:

3MF and G-code Information [IMPORTANT]:

  • Both the 3MF and G-code files have been prepared for the magnetic version on a Prusa i3 MK3S+.
    • The printer will pause automatically at 2 different heights to allow you to insert the magnets mid-print. When inserting the magnets into the sides of the top and bottom case, it is critical that the polarization of the magnets is correct so that the magnets are attracted to each other when closing the case, otherwise they will be repelled. If you get this wrong, you will have to re-print the top of the case later on.
  • These files are also prepared in a way to have the LTT logo be a different colour with a single colour printer (one extruder/tool, no multi-material upgrade (MMU) attachment).
    • When printing, start with your main colour, then the printer will automatically have you change the filament at the correct time. It will print the logo in the newly inserted filament for the first and second layer. Finally, it will have you change the filament back to the original colour again.

Post-Processing Steps:

  • The only post-processing you will need to do is adding the 2mm round stainless steel rod, cut to 75mm, into the hinge holes. Simply insert it in one end while the case is shut (so that the holes are aligned). It should be a snug fit and not fall out.
  • Fill with all your bits, and enjoy!
