Descrição
Dash and Dot are robots from Wonder Workshop. They come together in one of the kits. Dash is the bigger one that can move around, and dot is the smaller one that is basically just a head with some sensors, no moving parts. My daughter wanted dash to enable dot to move around, so I designed this simple trailer that allows them to travel together.
You will need some super glue and 2 skateboard bearings. Everything was designed to be printed without supports.
Dash and Dot connectors are based of [https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3321647](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3321647), but the rest is completely designed in tinkercad.
Print instructions
Should be printed in PETG. The connectors are not flexible enough with PLA, the edges brake of when connecting-disconnecting to/from the robots.</p> You need to print 2x of wheel and tires. Tires are optional, and it's recommended to print them with some flexible material.
Post-Printing
Assembly
The assembly is relatively simple:
- Put the round robin attachment to a heated bed (set it to 85-95C) and keep it there for couple of minutes
- Bend it a bit and put it on the end of dash or dot, so that it bends around, leave it on the robot to fix it to a new shape
- Bearings are press fitted into the wheels, and then the wheels are press fitted to the trailer base
- Trailer attachment is the part that needs to be glued to the trailer base. It just slides in, put a couple of drops of super glue and slide it to the base
