I was looking for a cheap and easy solution to store filament spools in the Ikea Ivar shelving system. This version only needs half of the side units width. This frees the other side for further shelves or attachments and allows to mount the spool rack even on the parts of the side unit with the cross beams.

Right know, only a version for the 30 cm deep units exists. If you'd like to see a version for the 50 cm version, please let me know.

Print settings

• 0.20 mm layer height
• 5 top / bottom layers
• 3 perimeters
• 20 % gyroid or adaptive cubic infill

For each spool rack you'll need:

• 2x the printed part (choose your version based on the diameter of your wood rods)
• 4x original Ivar steel pins
• 2x 20 mm (or 24 mm) round wood rods (about 41 cm length each for the narrow Ivar version)

Assembly:

1. Insert the steel pins in a height of your liking
2. Place the printed parts on the steel pins and firmly push down
3. Insert the wood rods
4. Done 😄
