The store bought Christmas string light clips do not hold up for very long when left out year round. I wanted a clip in ASA for year round use that would work on our fence for patio lights. I removed the candle portion of the Christmas themed one that this was remixed from. For outdoor use you might be able to get away with ABS as well.
