The inside diameter of the hand holes were changed to fit this clock mechanism from Amazon.
Hour Hand: 5 mm dia
Minute Hand: 3.4 mm dia, 3 mm deep
The stem on the mechanism was far too long for the clock so I cut it off just below the flange. The internals are plastic so a Dremel cutoff bit creates too much heat. I used a razor saw and then cleaned up the tip with 100 grit sandpaper
