Descrição
Here are two versions of a ring holder that has an open ring for holding the ring (and a small bowl for rings in the middle (can be seen in the photo of m make). One can use the two- or four-arms version (I only printed the two arms version, but they are the same in complexity, so I do not expect any extra troubles). Especially the four arms version can hold a high number of rings (depending on the ring sizes, ~40 rings should fit fine on it). The model should work up- or downscaled as well (but bewarem, the smaller the scale, the easier the arms will break).
On the underside of the socket there is space to glue in some washers to increase the weight of the model for more stability.
Note about the gcode file: This file is only to give you a rough nuber of what to expect in print time and material needed. But I have no Prusa, so my printer uses slightly different settings, but the ones chosen in the 3mf file are close to mine, which were used for my own make (see picture).
| Category | Setting | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| Nozzle | any | in range 0.25-0.8mm none should be problematic (tested with 0.6mm) |
| Layer height | <0.25mm | using finer layer height will look better (due to flat socket parts the layer structure is more visible, maybe adaptive layer height useful). In my make I used 0.2mm |
| dimensions | ~8.4cm x 8.4cm, z: 5.2cm | Should not be problematic when scaled bigger, smaller will make the arms more fragile |
| support structure | optional | I did print it without support, but the second run (see photo) had slight distortions in the highest points (run of my first draft looked good, though), where overhang is about 45%. So thinner layer height might help |
| perimeter | best: 3 | I used 3 perimeters to get more stability to the arms, ironing optional |
| infill | socket: ~15%, arms: 100% | the arms should not be hollow but filled completely to get more rigidness. Due to the slight horizontal extra curvature the arms are not as fragile as they look like. |
| material | all nonflex materials work | but beware, the arms are bad for brittle materials, for me PLA worked fine |
| complexity | easy/normal | every printer should be able to deal with this model, overhang is up to about 45° |
| extra items | optional: washers | the underside has an indentation where one can glue some washers into it to make the model heavier and therefore less prone to topple it over |
