The base ten number block sets are used by teachers to teach kids place value. They are a great way to visualise units, tens, hundreds and thousands.

This project started as my teacher wife asked if I could make some 10mm cubes to replace the ones lost over time. This expanded to include a couple of the 10mm x 10mm x 100mm rods, so I decided to expand the set out to include them all.

I haven't printed the 100mm cube, as it isn't required in her sets and is a largish print - about 160g and 20hrs of printing. I designed it with 2mm walls and hollow interior. If printed as positioned, there is a vertical cross of walls through the hollow centre with width of .4. This is my best attempt to hollow the design and allow for the top bridge to print well.

For the 100mm x 100mm x 10mm plate, when it gets to the top the first few layers of the bridging will not hold well on infill of 10% due to the cross pattern (have a look at the top few layers in the slicer). These will be printed over and will not affect the final product, but it is important to either increase the infill to make sure these layers print, or increase the number of top layers to ensure it covers well.

With regard to the smaller parts, I printed these at .2 layers with 10% infill. I don't think it would hurt to increase the layers to speed up the print time.

I've provided these as a resource to replace lost parts, but there is no reason you could not print a full set. I don't think it is economical to do that, as these kits come up on ebay reasonably often.
