A new and improved simple mounting block to attach a ring light to the top gantry bar of the Creality Ender 3 V2 or most V slot style gantry.

I wanted to mount a LED ring light to my Ender 3 V2 gantry bar but since upgrading to a direct-drive extruder I needed to redesign my original mounting clip as the stepper motor on the new direct-drive system was hitting the ring light at maximum height.

This new mounting block raises the ring light higher from the gantry to avoid collisions and also does away with the fragile fiddly clips and instead incorporates a recessed hole so that the block can be securely mounted to the V slot gantry using a bolt and V-slot T nut. There is a slot in the block so you can secure the ring light in place with a thin cable-tie along with 2 uprights either side of the block to help align the ring light and also guide the cable-ties over the ring light. You could remove these uprights if you wish.

There is also a variant of the model included which has no uprights but also has a wider slot for a slightly larger cable-tie.

You will require 2 blocks to be printed, one for each end of the gantry. You will also require 2 bolts, 2 V-slot T nuts and some cable-ties for secure mounting. The model file contains both mount blocks, feel free to test print just one first if you wish.

No supports are required for this block.

This clip was designed to fit a Creality Ender 3 V2 but may also fit other Ender models, for reference the ring light was 260mm diameter, 25mm edge width and 17mm thick. The block should suit any ring light that has a 25mm wide LED face. There is also a version with no uprights which should be suitable for wider LED rings.
