Descrição
This decision making pendulum is a fun, random way to answer those burning questions like, should I get take-out for dinner.
Designed for 8 pieces of Ø6mm by 4mm thick magnets (6 in the base, two stacked in the pendulum) or 6 pieces of Ø6mm by 4mm thick magnets and 1 piece of Ø6mm by 8mm magnet.
The arm is designed to slide into the base and to print without supports. The RED line in the photos represents a thread or string that you will tie to the pendulum and to the arm. Leave just enough gap so that the pendulum does not hit the base when swinging.
A colour change can be added to the base part so that the lettering is a different colour than the main base so that the lettering stands out.
The base has holes that you can slide the magnets in after printing. This does not require a pause print action. You can glue them in place; however, watch the polarity to ensure all magnets are facing the same direction. If requested I can provide a model for encapsulation; however, I have included stl, step, and 3mf files to make it easy for people to modify (especially if you have a magnet of a slightly different size). You can also customize the text as you see fit for your application. The numbers were included to act like a D6 dice for a different way to “Roll”
The pendulum is meant to be encapsulate so you WILL NEED a pause print in order to insert the magnet(s). I have again included the stl, step, and 3mf files so that you can modify the fit for your magnet. Again, take care with the polarity so that it will be attracted to the magnets that are installed in the base.
NOTE the 3mf files contain the material change for the base, the orientation for the arm, and the pause print for the pendulum.
