This is an updated version of my magnetic filament management system. I have combined two of my previous Prusa accessories so that they now play nicely together (this, and the Revo nozzle holder), and I have included designs here for the original 10mm magnets I used, and the “10mm” magnets I received when I ordered again - they're actually 9.5mm.

I keep most of my filaments in dry boxes above the printer, and now just swap the tubes over. No worry of filaments unwinding, moisture, tangling push-fit connectors or general faff.

Parts required - 10 x 3mm magnets. 

Print however many MagClips you want, alternating between front and rear versions. Then print as many Hex Caps as you have printed clips. 

Printing is pretty straight forward, but unfortunately you need supports on the clip bodies under one face of the hexagons, see image below, and the replacement Prusa FS Cover part needs to be printed in an orientation requiring supports. 

I prefer the clip bodies in black, and the hex caps to be in Prusa orange. I try and print the bowden tube connectors in the same filament that they will contain - makes life easier identifying which filament is in which tube. 

The magnets they are designed for are the common 10 x 3mm countersunk ones, but I have found they are very often undersized - especially the cheaper options. Hence the two size options.

The bowden tubes I use are mainly 3mm OD PTFE tube, which I bought accidentally but seems to work fine, perhaps even better in a reverse bowden setup, but I do still use some 4mm OD PTFE tube and have included magnetic end connectors for that too. 

The magnets should be a tight push fit in, and the tube end prints should be a snug fit onto the tube ends - it helps to ‘screw’ them on, there are slight spiral ribs on the inside opening.

UPDATE 25/05/2023 - I added a pre-sliced file with one of every component to illustrate print orientation and support placement. I strongly suggest you re-slice with your own settings, and only print the parts you need.
