I modeled this to use on a welding table that I'm building. The table will have two fully tiltable sections, so this little gizmo should be able to tell me if the table sections are level and, if not, what angle they are tilted at.
The operation is self-explanatory. All you need to add is a ball bearing. I designed it to use a 6 mm diameter ball. However, slightly bigger or smaller balls will also work, as long as they can roll freely inside the channel and are not too small so as to come out the side.
If the ball you plan on using doesn't fit, you can simply scale the model up or down slightly to adjust.
I recommend printing at 0.15mm layer height to make the inside of the channel as smooth as possible. I used PLA at 10% gyroid infill for this print.
If you want to have the numbers and the tick marks printed with contrasting colors, you can add stop commands before the last few layers and change the filament before resuming the print. Since the tick marks and numbers are not at the same height, you could even print the tick marks in one contrasting color and the numbers in another color. As for me, I only plan on dabbing white paint on top…
