3D model Tablet Computer Base / Stand by tahunus on Printables

Description

I designed this base to raise my Surface Pro 7 computer by 15cm since the standard kickstand keeps it at desk level. I observed a (self-imposed) restriction to NOT use any external piece, screws or glue to assemble the structure, which also allows it to be un-assembled for storage.

The Left & Right Holders (in orange, only because that's what I had loaded at the time) restrict torsion in the X-Z axes and displacement in the X axis of the triangle bases. They can be assembled in the front or the back side (either side provides the same stability). The Surface computer itself restricts torsion in the X-Y and y-Z axes.

I calculated the center of gravity falling between the horizontal axis of the triangular bases. All this minimizes material used (117 grams) and creates a stable enough structure. Caveat: to be used by a conscious adult, not a child or a drunk uncle (in homage to the SNL character :) ….)

I'm uploading the Fusion360 file if modifying for an iPad or another tablet computer (Microsoft Surface Pro models may have the same dimensions). Just make sure the center of gravity stays in the middle.
