Cursed with a cutlery drainer that never quite fitted my plate rack, I designed my own.

If your plate rack is like mine (having transverse ‘ribs’ 85mm apart and longitudinal ‘ribs’ 24mm apart) then it should fit yours too. Or feel free to modify the files.

Print the base and drop into the recess a 110mm square of aluminium (not steel – that’ll rust) mesh, making sure the little pillar in the centre pokes through a gap in the mesh.

Print the body and use a few dabs of superglue to fix the body to the base, sandwiching the mesh between them.

I’m really pleased with mine. It doesn’t slide around, takes up less room in the plate rack than its cylindrical predecessor and even holds more cutlery.
