Modelo 3D Stackable rotating tea drawers por PapaYankee no Printables

Descrição

A column of tea bags. Four drawers, and four (optional) side columns (they also add to the strength of the model). You may put tea bags in the drawers or the side columns, or use the side columns for sugar, spoons, etc. Everything can be stacked.

Model is made for « average » tea bags, around 65x78 mm. If you need something different, just ask me, I'll will upload the STLs.

Support are needed on the bodies, because of the external ridge to lock the side columns. Support also needed on the axis extension used to stack several layers of drawers.

2023-03-12

  • putting back the side columns. Clearances should be good now.
  • added a third drawer with hexagons carved on only two (opposite) faces.
  • added 75% height drawers.

2023-03-11

  • added a second drawer, with hexagons carved from the faces. Less material used.

2023-03-10 :

  • temporarily removing side columns, there seems to be a clearance problem that crept in somewhere.
  • added a second version of the (still optional) lid, with a small handle that makes it  easier to remove the drawer especially when you stack layers.

Note : some of the STL are upside down. Rotate them before printing !

How to use : 1 axis and up to 4 bodies/drawers/side columns. Everything should lock properly without resorting to glue. If you do not plan (yet) to stack several layers, no need to print the base plate (but it enables easily turning the bodies/drawers).

Lids on the drawers are optional, useful if storing loose tea.

Side columns may be full height or 75% only, which is better if you stack bodies/drawers. Side columns have either a full solid front (A model, for sugar sticks and such) or with a grooved front (B model, easier to lift some bag out).

Plate axis has a hole to insert a very basic handle, or to clip an extension axis that will be locked by a small peg. Printing the base plate is optional (with the handle, useful because it's easier to make the bodies/drawers turn). Plate is mandatory if you want to stack drawers.

You may lift the set by the handle, but be careful : the handle could break, it's only 5mm thick.

How to stack

Print one base plate, as many extensions and locks as needed (number of layers minus 1), as many axises as layers. Put first axis on plate, lock bodies on axis, add an extension and lock it, add an axis, lock bodies on axis, and so on.

Insert the lock carefully. The extension's legs are not too fragile, but they may break if you are not careful.

Once inserted, the lock (shorter than the full width of the axis) should not protrude from either end.

Otherwise it will prevent the bodies/drawers from turning easily.
